Our interior process starts with covering and protecting all of your flooring, walls, furnishings and fixtures. From there, cabinets follow their own order.
01
Doors and Drawer Fronts Come Off
Every door and drawer front is taken off, labeled so it goes back exactly where it came from, and finished separately on racks rather than hanging in place.
02
Hardware Off, Then Back On
Hinges, pulls and knobs come off before prep and go back on at the end. Painting around hardware is how you end up with gummed up hinges and paint lines along the edges.
03
Priming for Adhesion
A bonding primer goes on before color. That is what lets a new finish hold on a door that already had a factory finish or an older coat of paint on it.
04
Spraying Versus Brushing
Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed for a smooth, even finish. Face frames and boxes are sprayed where the area can be masked properly, and brushed and rolled where spraying would put overspray somewhere it should not go.
05
Cure Time and the First Couple of Weeks
Paint is dry to the touch long before it is fully cured. You can use the kitchen again quickly, but for the first couple of weeks go easy: close doors and drawers gently, do not stack things hard against fresh surfaces, and wipe rather than scrub.
